The computer vision group at GE Global Research in Niskayuna, NY conducts basic and applied research in computer vision and closely related areas.  With 14 PhD’s and additional engineers with backgrounds in computer science, electrical engineering and mathematics, the group develops advanced technologies for GE businesses, including Medical Systems, Aircraft Engines, Industrial Systems, and Power Systems; Lockheed Martin; and US Government agencies including DARPA, FBI, AFRL and NIMA.  Areas of active research include image segmentation, perceptual organization, texture classification, object detection, event recognition, tracking, camera calibration, structure from motion, optical metrology, video content extraction, change detection, and superresolution.
